Theme: Self Care and How to Maintain Your Best on Your Worst Day

Author, professor, counseling psychologist, former college wrestling coach of the year, husband, father, and reformed class clown, Dr. Bird is a nationally recognized speaker on issues of positive psychology, character development, bullying (for children and adults) and has spoken to over 100,000 educators, parents, and students nationwide.  He is the author of “The Jerk Whisperer” and the bestselling “How To Build A Child’s Character- By Tapping Into Your Own.”  He speaks to audiences nationwide on how to tap into our character. Dr. Bird examines our most common reactions to stress and provides skills to deal with tension and change in today’s high-pressure world. He also offers small changes in our day-to-day behaviors that will allow us to reduce stress and deal with the most difficult situations and people. Dr. Stephen Birchak has become one of the nation’s foremost experts in human relations in the workplace, the home, and in educational settings. His principles involving human character have been used by executives, corporate leaders, educators, parents, and students.

Dr. Bird has a Bachelors degree in Health Education from the University of Northern Colorado, a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Adams State College, and a Doctorate in Counselor Education from the University of Northern Colorado. He is a Full Professor at The College of Saint Rose, in Albany, New York where he has taught courses in the Graduate Counseling program since 1992. Dr. Bird also worked for Colorado University, Colorado Northwestern Community College, The University of Northern Colorado, and The University of Maine prior to coming to New York. Married since 1981 (to his wife – Annie), he raised 2 sons, Nicholas and Brandon. Steve lives in Mayfield, New York.
